Compliance
Safety interaction compliance
A major Australian rail operator, project engineering services
The situation
Safety interactions carry a hard obligation: a minimum number per person per year, with monthly cadence expectations underneath that. The reporting existed, but it reported the team as a total. A team can look adequate in aggregate while individuals inside it are months behind, and by the time the annual number is in, there is no year left to fix it.
What we built
A tracker that resolves compliance to the individual and to the month.
- Submissions load from the source export rather than being typed in again.
- Each person’s position against both the monthly cadence and the annual minimum is shown directly, not derived by the reader.
- Discrepancies between what was submitted and what was recorded are surfaced rather than silently absorbed into the total.
The result
The team moved from a number that arrived too late to act on, to a monthly view that a manager can act on. Compliance against targets stepped up materially, and the organisation’s obligations under its work health and safety instruments became something demonstrable rather than something asserted.
